Sean’s Bar is noted for its claim of being established in 900 AD, which would make it the oldest bar in Ireland and possibly all of Europe. It is situated in the heart of Ireland in Athlone, Westmeath. It is a great place for a pint which rich history, lively music and a perfect pint. Sean’s is a must go for any tourist with Lonely Planet naming it in their “25 of the Most Incredible Bars in The World. There’s always a great atmosphere once you step in you’ll have the craic.
2. Have a Tea in Tullynally Castle Gardens

Tullynally Castle Gardens is a country house located in County Westmeath. The Gothic-Style building has over 120 rooms and is home to the Pakenham family for over 350 years. They have a gorgeous garden to explore the stunning flowers and castle, perfect on a sunny day. There is also a tea room on-site if you want to have a cup of tea and a cake on these beautiful grounds.
3. Learn the History of Kilbeggan Distillery at Their Visitor Centre

Kilbeggan Distillery is an Irish Whiskey Distillery located on the River Brosna in Westmeath. It is one of the oldest licensed distillery of its kind in Ireland. Daily tours allow visitors to see how the whiskey is made and listen to the town’s history with the distillery.
