Lough Key Forest & Activity Park is an 800-hectare park on the shore of Lough Key in County Roscommon. In the Park, they have lots of activities for people of all ages such as Zipit, Woodland Segway and much more. Lough Key has a beautiful landscape steeped in rich history with stunning views.

Arigna Mining Experience brings history to life and tells the story of Ireland’s coal mining Industry and explore the topic of energy. Light and sound enhance the tour to make it a more interactive experience. Coal was mined in the valley for over 400 years in the Roscommon area.

4. Visit Boyle Abbey

Boyle Abbey was a Cistercian monastery set up in the 12th Century by monks from Mellifont Abbey. It was one of the most powerful of the early Cistercian foundations in Ireland. The 16th Century gatehouse has been restored to its natural glory and turned into an interpretive centre where you can learn more about the history of the Abbey.
