1. Explore Westport House

Westport House is one of Mayo’s top attractions with beautiful parklands, lakes and the family fun Pirate Adventure Park. Located in Westport, Mayo the house was built by the Browne family who dates back to the 1500s.
2. Learn About Country Life at National Museum of Ireland – Country Life

National Museum of Ireland – Country Life is located in Turlough in Mayo. Set up in 2001 the museum is part of the National Museum of Ireland and the only national museum outside Dublin. The exhibits on display show what life for rural Irish people was like from 1850 to 1950.
3. Climb Croagh Patrick

Croagh Patrick is Ireland’s sacred mountain with rich archaeological heritage. It is located 5 miles from Westport and the mountain soars about the beautiful countryside landscape. The Croagh Patrick Visitor Centre is situated in Murrisk, the base of the mountain.
4. Explore The History at Céide Fields

Céide Fields is an archaeological site in North Mayo, the West of Ireland. There is a system of fields, dwelling areas and megalith tombs which make up the most extensive Stone Age Monument in the world. The stoned walled fields are the oldest known globally going back almost 6,000 years.

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Knock, more commonly known as Knock Shrine is a Catholic pilgrimage site and National Shrine in Knock, Mayo. It is stated that observes saw an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John the Baptist, the angels and Jesus Christ in 1879.
