1. Explore The Rock of Dunamase

The Rock of Dunamase offers stunning views, a place where warriors have fought to control the limestone outcrop known as “hum. The earliest settlement at this location was a Christian settlement that was pillaged by Vikings in 842. Today the ruins are managed by the state. It is a beautiful place to explore and learn the history of the ruins.
2. Walk The Gardens at Emo Court House

Emo Court House is located in the village of Emo in Laois. It is a large neo-classical mansion featuring sash-style windows, pavilions, a large dome and more. It is a beautiful architectural design. There are beautiful gardens and parklands which contain a lake and lawn a popular area to explore the beautiful landscape.
3. Learn about The Famine Workhouse at Donaghmore Workhouse & Agricultural Museum

Donaghmore Workhouse & Agricultural Museum is a unique attraction in Laois, that tells the story of families who lived and died within the Famine Workhouse walls. The museum offers guided and self-guided tours. There is also an Agricultural Collection with a selection of artefacts donated by local people in Laois from household items to hand tools used in the Workhouse.
