After conducting some internet-based research on things to do in Clare we compiled a list of the results we found. This list is not ranked in order of popularity.
1. Go Sightseeing at The Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher is one of the top tourist attractions in Ireland. Located in Clare, the stunning cliffs have inspired artists, musicians and more as they’re drawn by the beautiful landscape. There is a stunning cliff walk and a visitor centre that is sculpted into the landscape. From the cliffs, visitors can see the Aran Islands in Galway Bay. The location is very picturesque and is always a location I’m sure you have seen on an Instagram post.
2. Visit Bunratty Castle & Folk Park

Visit the beautiful 15th Century Castle in Clare. The site was once a Viking trading camp in 970, so the land is steeped in historical knowledge. On the site, you can take a tour and hear about old stories of battles across the Clare countryside.
3. Visit Doolin Cave

The Doolin Cave Centre is home to one of Europe’s most magnificent wonders ‘The Great Stalactite’. The building consists of a cafe, an exhibition area and a craft shop. It was a very enjoyable experience being so deep underground. From the outside, you would have no idea what you’re about to experience until you start making your way down to the cave.
4. Explore Burren National Park

Burren National Park is approximately 1500 hectares and is a major nature conservation site. There are multiple walking trails throughout the Burren so you can really experience it in all its beauty. The Burren is known for its flora and with that brings an interesting dynamic of wildlife.
5. Go Surfing at Lahinch Beach

Lahinch is world known for its huge waves that crash in. Surfers come to experience these wild waves. If you want to surf while you’re in Lahinch then check out Bens Surf Clinic where you can rent surfing boards and hit the waves. You can also get surfing lessons here if you’re a beginner looking for some tips on how to start. You will be met with a lot of other visitors to the town doing the same thing, especially in the summer months.
6. Explore Aillwee Cave

Aillwee Cave is located in the heart of The Burren region in Clare. Ailwee is a place of beauty and discovery. The tour lasts about 35-minutes and takes you through the stunning caverns which are very unique under the Burren terrain.
7. Lahinch Golf Club

Lahinch Golf Club is an amazing Championship Golf Course in Clare. Lahinch Golf Club recently held the Irish open in 2019. Lahinch is a very picturesque location right next to the sea and sandy beaches and this golf club has all of this beauty within its surroundings.
8. Visit Father Ted’s House

Father Ted is a much loved Irish sitcom set on the fictional Craggy Island about 3 priests and their housekeepers. Since it ended there has been a massive support for it and the love for the sitcom has only grown more and more. Ted’s house is the main base for the show so visit the house and take a few photos and you can now say you went to his house.
