On our recent trip to the beautiful fishing village of Ardmore in County Waterford to visit one of Irelands Oldest Monastic Sites we decided to have our lunch in the world famous Cliff House Hotel in the seaside village of Ardmore.
We have often heard people discussing the wonderful location and food at the Cliff House Hotel but had never been there ourselves, and I am delighted to say it did not disappoint. The Cliff House is a 5 Star luxury Hotel and is one of the most famous hotels and eating venues in Ireland.
The Hotel offers the height of luxury, with its panoramic ocean views, 39 beautiful rooms, a Michelin starred restaurant and Spa, and the Cliff House is the perfect location for a break away from reality.
The Cliff House Hotel is tucked into a cliff overlooking the beaches of Ardmore and nestles itself perfectly into its historic setting, becoming a part of this wondrous location. As we walked into the warm and inviting reception, friendly and helpful staff greeted us.
It was impossible not to be rendered speechless by the panoramic views of the ocean from the massive windows that seem to join the Cliff House Hotel with the sea and sky.
We made our way to the restaurant but we were distracted by the amazing decking area outside the dining room, that made you feel you were a part of this beautiful environment, sitting in comfort and luxury. Soaking in the wondrous birds that were hovering over the bay.
The décor of The Cliff House Hotel seems to join this building with nature; its elegant stone and tranquil colors make this building blend seamlessly into its Ocean environment.
We sat down to eat and the menu was exquisite, there was something for everyone with a wide range of fresh seafood also available.
The service was superb and our server was extremely nice and all our needs were catered for with a smile and a manner that made us feel completely comfortable. As our food arrived, there were gasps at the presentation and attention to detail.
I had the Caesar Salad and it was amazing, the presentation was so wonderful I felt a little guilty disturbing the perfection. The food tasted wonderful, with every aspect of the meal perfectly thought out and the combination of flavors and ingredients was excellent.
Everyone at our table was delighted and there was nothing left on our plates. We enjoyed wonderful coffee and continued to soak in the wonderful atmosphere and breathtaking views.
The Cliff House seems to be the perfect Hotel in the perfect location. We all felt relaxed and at ease and it was the highlight of our day. I would highly recommend The Cliff House Hotel to anyone visiting the area, whether you are staying at the Cliff House Hotel or dining there, it promises to be an experience that you will never forget.
We will definitely be back to enjoy this wonderful Hotel again, but I think this time I will have to stay and enjoy the wonderful views for a little longer.
