On our recent trip to research the historic sea side town of Youghal, Co. Cork. We were astounded by the beauty of this beautiful area and will be doing a full write up on everything you can expect to see and enjoy in Youghal, as well as some of the best places you can stay. With its vast history and epic scenery Youghal should be on everyone’s list of where to visit in Ireland.
We went to the Youghal Visitor Centre and were told about an amazing café. We were delighted with the suggestion and this is where we stopped for something to eat, it was full of local people and locally owned, so you know it’s a town favorite, I personally love to visit somewhere that local people love because you know its going to be amazing and this beautiful café was perfect in everyway. Its name is Sage and it is right beside the epic clock tower in the centre of Youghal Town. The menu is vast with something for everyone, the food was outstanding and my eyes were popping out of my head looking at the beautiful selection of cakes and pastries on offer.
I had the vegetable quiche and it was truly amazing, and the portions were perfect. The coffee was amazing and I have to say the staff were so friendly, when I go back to Youghal to take part in the tour of this gem in Ireland’s Ancient East this is where I will be having my lunch. I particularly loved that all the food and cakes are homemade and they use local produce, with many organic choices on offer. They also have a range of homemade jams and jelly’s that looked amazing and would make a perfect gift to bring home. This is a beautiful café that is not to be missed, with a friendly and inviting environment right in the middle of one of Ireland’s most famous towns.
