County Waterford, an extraordinary place with so much to see and do. Well known for amazing scenic coastal towns such as Dunmore East, Tramore, and Dungarvan. We also have the Comeragh mountains where you can see the entire County in all its glory. Most recently Waterford has become famous for its new 46 kilometre greenway which stretches from Waterford city to Dungarvan. Cycling enthusiasts and walkers from all around the globe are descending on this glorious trail.
The history of Waterford may not be known to most but we are the oldest city in Ireland. The old walls of the Viking city are still in place today with Reginald’s Tower at its heart. You can take a trip down the shore river in the Brian Boru and see how the Vikings came into Waterford and why it became the city it is today.
We have so many fantastic places to eat in Waterford city such as the Munster Bar. Going to Dunmore East we have the famous fish food restaurant at The Strand and even an amazing Mediterranean restaurant on the Dock rd, called Azzurro. As you come off the Greenway trail in Dungarvan you’re met with the Anchor Bar that does lovely bar food and you also have something a little bit more up market such as the award-winning Tannery.
