Jameson Whiskey has been producing whiskey for over 200 years and have adapted to world events, they have survived revolution at home and World Wars.
In Ireland whiskey is known as an UIsce Beatha which means “water of life”. Jameson is loved both at home and abroad.

It is Ireland’s most beloved Whiskey brand and has a long and distinguished history spanning the most renowned periods of Ireland’s History.
The History of Jameson Whiskey.
The world famous Jameson whiskey was originally brewed on a famous little street called Bow Street in the very heart of Dublin City. This distillery was started in 1800 by the Steins Family.
However, the name that was gifted to this famous whiskey was that of John Jameson. John Jameson was a Scottish lawyer who was employed as a manager by the Steins family, and he changed the name of this growing whiskey to Jameson
The Jameson Museum in Dublin
This once functioning distillery was eventually closed down but it is now the site a fantastic museum located on the site of the original Jameson Distillery on Bow Street, Smithfield in the centre of Ireland’s capital city Dublin.
This museum is well worth a visit and opens at 10.00 and closes at 18.00, the tour of the museum takes about 1 hour.
On this wonderful tour you will be given an insight into the world of whiskey making and how this world famous brand grew and adapted to the growing and changing markets of the world.
You will be guided into a 19th Century warehouse and see how Jameson Whiskey is giving the time to mature and age in peace in massive oak casts. You will enjoy a tasting of Jameson, and you will also be guided to the Kiln Mills on this Guided Tour.
Where Jameson is distilled today?
In 1985 the decision was made to move the distillery to the town of Midleton, which is located about 12 miles from Cork City, County Cork.
With a growing demand the Distillery had to relocate to accommodate the equipment needed to fulfil the increasing demand.
It is now one of the world’s most modern distilleries. The Midleton Distillery produces many verities of Jameson Whiskey and other products associated with this world-famous Brand.
Products include verities of Jameson Whiskey, Redbreast, Green Spot and Powers and Paddy whiskeys.
Midleton is possibly best known for the rare and expensive verities of Midleton Whiskey. This site is home to 2 75.000-liter port stills, which are a wondrous sight to behold.
They also brew verities of Gin and Vodka.
